Remember those long, hot, sunny days watching French villagers, pastis, red wine and Gauloises to hand, playing their 'national' game? Ever fancied trying your hand at petanque or boules, as it's often known?
Now's your chance! The North Stainley West Tanfield Petanque Club, formerly located at the rear of the Staveley Arms, now has new 'terrains' (playing areas) at the Memorial Hall Car Park in West Tanfield close by the Bull Inn and Bruce Arms in the centre of the village. It's a small, friendly club where you are sure of a warm welcome and as much help as you need in learning how to play.
Go on! Give it a try!. You know you want to!
For more details on the club, see the Clubs and Groups section of the village website or contact email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
